In a pen and paper rpg I once played a woman disguised as a man without telling the other players. Was fun.
(Post apocalyptic setting. Woman alone is in more trouble...)

When I was playing WoW I had about half and half male and female characters. The one character who always (and I mean always) got hit on in-game was my female gnome. Seriously. I jumped into a boat one time to get out of the water and this dwarf who was sitting in it started demanding a kiss for the use of 'his' boat (it was just part of the scenery)
I briefly wished it was a game with eve-style pvp so I could kill him where he sat, then just left. Seriously, if you think a few men with female avatars is weird then you have no idea.
Another time someone sent me a tell containing, in its entirety "Hello, my sexy gnome". Ick!

Considering it's on a transgender website I would hazard a guess that some are and others were.
I like to remember that it is entirely possible for a man to be born a woman, grow up a woman and never know short of a cell biopsy that he has that Y chromosome. Unless you want to go around taking genetic samples of your dates get used to only caring about what is perceptible.

No, but my character is named after the love interest in the short story Day Million. He falls in love with a very feminine woman (albeit with a silky pelt and tail) who is genetically male. This makes it kinda hard for me to post negatively about trannies in this persona.

 Yeah, that's the only reason to be tolerant and understanding...
To be honest, how would I know anyway? I cannot remember seeing a gf's birth certificate or medical records. I certainly wouldn't have the first idea how to perform a cell biopsy so in truth I just took it on faith that if it looks, feels and registers with the other senses in manners normally associated with a woman then it's a woman.
